A Place With No Name is a four-part cyanotype series inspired by Daoist philosophy, exploring how the self transforms through the elemental forces of earth, wind, fire, and water. Each work traces the journey of individualization—how a fragmented being seeks wholeness through constant transformation.
Created in collaboration with French actor Camille Mallet de Chauny, the series merges performance and cyanotype, translating movement, light, and water into a visual record of the body. In the process, Camille performs his body into the four elements, embodying the tension between resilience and surrender.
For me, this work reflects how individuals evolve through hardship, displacement, rejection, and renewal—the process of becoming through uncertainty. The cyanotype medium, with its alchemical nature, captures traces of sunlight, time, and water, turning impermanence into presence. A Place WithNo Name becomes both a site of erasure and revelation, where the human body meets the natural world to rediscover the essence of being.

《无名之地》受道家思想启发,探讨个体在地、风、火、水四种元素中转化、重生的过程。作品与法国演员 Camille Mallet de Chauny 合作完成,他以身体演绎四象,化身自然元素,以表达人在逆境、流离与拒斥中不断重塑自我的历程。
蓝晒这一结合光、水与身体痕迹的媒介,记录了时间与能量的流动。作品象征人在不确定与变动中寻找整体与归属的精神旅程,是对存在、消逝与再生的诗意凝视。

This work in display is in the part of exhibition of new work in the Swatch Art Peace Hotel Residency. As part of the residency, I co-curated a three-person exhibition "Internal Drifting: From Home to the World" , at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel Gallery, Shanghai. The exhibition transformed the gallery space into a living laboratory, presenting newly finished works, fragments, and processes as a dialogue. Each artist contributed distinct perspectives—urban memory, embodied performance, and cross-cultural visual journalism—woven together under the themes of body, space, and history. The show invited audiences to witness the act of making as an evolving narrative, fostering engagement with overlooked memories and migrations. 

展出的这件作品是我驻地期间新作展的一部分。作为斯沃琪和平饭店艺术家驻地项目的一环,我共同策划了三人展《从家到世界,从世界到家》,于上海斯沃琪和平饭店艺术中心展出。展览将画廊空间转化为一个“活的实验室”,以全新的作品、片段与创作过程展开对话。三位艺术家分别从城市记忆、身体表演与跨文化视觉书写的角度出发,在“身体、空间与历史”的主题下交织出多重叙事。展览邀请观众见证艺术创作的生成过程,将被忽视的记忆与迁徙转化为一场持续展开的叙事与互动体验。
