Dualism-Poetically Dwelling, is a hand-made cyanotype album, with seven pairs of related images on both sides of the opening leaves. Each pair of images discusses a division of a daily situation conceptually into two opposed or contrasted aspects.
The one-of-a-kind cyanotype leaves are carefully made in the artist studio, then mounted onto every page of the handmade book. Each piece of the blue was exposed in the summer sun with pieces of negative drawings and washed in running water. The final images are appeared on a luxurious fine art paper made from rice. The cover and slipcase are made from blue silk. They are bound in an accordion-style format that was traditionally used to bind volumes of imperial Chinese poetry.
The book is a limited edition of twelve, each has a page of colophon and contents. Each edition is subtly variant, due to the idiosyncratic nature of the cyanotype process. The red seal QR code is a digital portal connected with artist’s website.
