Unique piece
In the realm of shadows and light, where blue whispers of cyanotype blend with the digital's precise touch, there lies a project steeped in the essence of departure and arrival. It's a journey painted not just on canvas but on the heart's very fabric, where longings stretch their hands towards what was, and anxieties claw at the unknown that awaits. Fear, that silent traveler, makes its presence known, nestling closely between the folds of newfound beginnings and the remnants of a past too stubborn to fully fade.
Upon the return to what was once called home, a stark revelation unfolds—the walls, the air, the very essence of place has transformed. It's as if the home that once cradled dreams and witnessed silent whispers under the moon's watchful gaze has become a stranger, or perhaps, it is we who have changed, morphing under the weight of our experiences, becoming guests in a space that once felt as familiar as our skin.
The subject matter is explored using cyanotype, digital editing, plotter printing, and acrylic on canvas. The cyanotype process gives the panels a bluish color and creates a feeling that is simultaneously peaceful and distressing. Onto these panels, I painted details of human figures. In the work, men and women are falling very slowly from their original place, as if they are peeling off of it.
